The body as a painted canvas, as moulded material … among colours, graphics and tattoos. The body: in these photos, it is the artist’s raw material, whether it is used as a starting point for the creation or the creation immortalized by the photographer.
A personal interpretation of the nude, which does not want to make the nude merely explicit, as in the most common artistic nudes, but to heighten the model’s shapes and beauty, creating images where the subject is elevated as work of art itself.
Bodies placed inside niches, above improvised altars or thrones, in the attempt to set the female body on a pedestal which, in this situation, turns itself into a living sculpture, often with references to the classical art.
In other circumstances “the body art” is expressed by the model herself, by her peculiar physicality and/or by the details with which she stands out, such as many and spectacular tattoos or hairstyles with different cuts and colours.
Guided by the expert eye of the photographer, the subject gives life to images of artistic nude, where the art is represented by the model’s body, her plasticity, her colours or her black and white graphics, the ability to move and manage her body within a space, sometimes with the help of an element, sometimes without it… a mere container where the Body Art is expressed inside.
