Beginner workshop

No previous experience is required to participate.

It is possible to register both in pairs and alone up to a maximum of 16 participants.
In the case of individuals will be formed pairs of participants who will alternate in the role of “binder” and “tied”

A unique opportunity to approach the world of Shibari with an approach aimed at teaching the use of rope and knots not only to learn a technique but to embark on a journey of aesthetic research through the use of this fascinating oriental art.

The course aims to teach the basic ligatures, paying great attention to the precautions to be followed in order to ensure that these are carried out in complete safety and in compliance with the tradition of this ancient art, deepening also the history and its various use over the centuries.
Compatibly with the fluidity of the session, Hikari Kesho will lead the students to master the basic ligatures, illustrating more complex ligatures like the Karada, hinting at the end of techniques and problems related to the creation of a suspension.

A recommended set of ropes can be formed from 1x 15m, 2x 8m and 2x 4m diameter of 6/8mm
For those who were not provided, it can be purchased with prior notice at the cost of € 0.80 per mt.

It is also recommended to bring a towel (large towel or sheet) for ligatures on the ground and wear comfortable items but well attached to the body so that they do not get in the way during ligatures.

Sunday 12 February 2012 from 15.00 to 20.00

Advanced workshop

The workshop will be held in Padua, at the photographic studio headquarters of the Hikari Kesho Art association, Nawashi (maestrodi corde) and internationally renowned photographer Hikari Kesho aka Alberto Lisi. assisted by his study assistant and a model.
Inside the studio there are light systems, scenography and structures for shibari

The course is aimed at people who have already mastered the techniques of shibari, but who intend to improve themselves, experimenting with more complex but above all aesthetically more refined ligatures.
The purpose of this meeting is to help the student to develop the most aesthetic and creative side of this discipline, without dwelling too much on the “peculiarity” of the node, but rather to concentrate on the composition, the balances, the lights and all those components that serve to transform a formal exercise of tying into a real “living work of art”
The problems related to the equipment, the timing, the techniques and the “tricks” that accompany the creation of an image with a high aesthetic / emotional content will be examined.

30 years of experience as a professional photographer, engaged in the field of fashion and advertising and as many of artistic research, of which about 10 dedicated to the ancient art of the Samurai, brought the photographer / nawashi Hikari Kesho on the covers of countless magazines of international circulation , publishing its portfolios and photo books distributed throughout the world, to participate in collective and personal exhibitions with great public response.
In March 2012 he will be one of the 20 artists in the world called to present his works at the “Art of Contemprary Shibari” at the “Fotofest 2012 Biennial” in Houston Texas:

It is possible to register both in pairs and alone up to a maximum of 12 participants, the singles will be matched in pairs, compatibly with the presences.
During this course the ligatures will be explained and shown with the support of a model,
and projection of photos on the big screen.
The students will try at the same time as the demonstration of H K, who will then later accompany them in the search for their ceativo path.

Required equipment:
Given the presupposed experience of the participants, everyone can bring the material they deem appropriate, even if for consistency with the “work” of the artist we recommend all 8-meter ropes (6 are already sufficient) and possibly one of 15 meters, with diameter of your choice.
Anyone who for any reason is not in possession of it, can buy them in advance upon notice at a cost of € 0.80 per mt

Saturday 11 and Sunday 12

For those wishing to attend both Saturday and Sunday sessions, the association offers Hotel and B & B addresses at “political” prices.
Moreover, if desired, the participants of the Saturday session can take advantage, in late Sunday morning, of the availability of Hikari Kesho to consolidate the concepts acquired to better introduce them.
